MJPRU is the short form of Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Rohilkhand University which is situated in Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh. It is a state government-owned University.

The headquarters of the university is located in Bareilly with territorial jurisdiction covering the districts of :

Nearly 80% of the students get placed and companies like TCS and Wipro visit the college. Top roles offered are programmer, IT handler or coder. Nearly 100% of the students get an internship. The university is affiliated to UGC(University Grants Commission), NAAC(National Assessment and Accreditation Council) and BCI(Bar Council of India). MJPRU provides a wide range of Diploma, Under-graduate, post-graduate, doctoral and pre-doctoral programs. The basic programs offered by MJPRU include BA, BSc, BCom, B.Ed, BBA, BCA, MA, MSc, M.Com Exam.

Students are expected to go through individual MJPRU course criteria and requirements before enrolling for the respective courses. MJPRU has developed a wide range of Post-Graduate Programmes, Under-Graduate Programmes with specializations and Certificate and Diploma Programmes of Vocational nature.

MJPRU Admission

MJPRU admission process starts from the first week of April 2020 for the academic session 2020-21. The admissions dates provided now are tentative and are likely to change as per the official notifications from University. Based on the marks secured in the qualifying examination, MJPRU gives admission to the respective students for the course they want to pursue. After that, a merit list is prepared whereby students scoring higher marks are shortlisted and various counseling sessions are conducted for the seats that are available.

Candidates are generally asked to fill the admission form online through the official website. Although, certain courses require the candidates to appear for entrance examinations for that particular course. The entrance exam is a pen and paper-based exam consisting of multiple-choice questions.

Students need to follow the following steps while applying for MJPRU Exam form:

1. Candidates are supposed to visit the official website of the university. They can also go to the site for online registration.
2. The website has an ‘online admission’ link which will take the applicants to the page for exam form filling. Students are required to select either postgraduate or undergraduate registration.
3. The form requires the candidates to fill in personal details like name, parent’s name, date of birth, Aadhar details, email address, domicile and so on.
4. Students may then upload the prescribed documents such as photographs and Signature. Information once filled can be saved for later. Students may either sign out or complete the payment at the same time. The registration number and password should be noted down beforehand to avoid hassles later on.

Students can check their results through the online platform of

The result published online is just to provide immediate information to pupils who appeared for the exams. To pass the examination, students need to secure a minimum number of marks as mentioned by the University. MJPR University hands over the mark sheets later on to students in person.

If any student is dissatisfied with his/her marks, they may apply for the revaluation process of the respective papers. They are charged with a certain fee for revaluation. The request for revaluation has to be submitted well before the due date.

MJPRU Campus

MJPRU campus had 4 different teaching departments in total. Later on, three more departments were added. It also houses a multipurpose hall, an administrative building, a faculty building, a central library and hostels for boys and girls.

The laboratories and library are well equipped and meet all the needs of the students. The infrastructure is impeccable and provides a very conducive environment for students. The University also has Sports facilities including Indoor stadium, Track field, etc. for outdoor games, inter-alia, as a Central facility.

The classrooms are provided with technologically advanced material including electronic gadgets which are regularly used for imparting instructions. Such gadgets are also used in laboratories and workshops. 

MJPRU Hostel

M. J. P. Rohilkhand University has good Hostel facilities for students coming from various places. The hostels are well-equipped with modern amenities along with a conducive environment for students to study.

The hostels are very close to the main campus of the university. Facilities such as telephone, common rooms, mess facility, common rooms, etc are provided in all the hostels mentioned below.

There are four boys only hostels across the campus.

Main Hostel

The Main Hostel can accommodate over 250 students. This is the oldest hostel and students from all faculties can seek accommodation here.

New Boys Hostel

The New Boys Hostel was built in 1997. This hostel has the capacity to house at least 300 students. This hostel was specially built for engineering faculty students.

BDA Hostel

The BDA Hostel can accommodate over 400 students. The hostel has separate blocks for first, second, third and final year students respectively. Only engineering students can seek accommodation here.

Rajkiya Hostel

The Rajkiya Hostel has the capacity to accommodate 100 students. This hostel was specially built to accommodate backward classes of the society i.e. scheduled castes and scheduled tribes. It has all the necessary facilities and equipment.

Girls Hostel

There is one common hostel built for girls from all faculties. Over 300 girls can be accommodated here. 

MJPRU Extra-Curricular

Apart from visiting Nath temples, fun city, and Sai Temple at Izzat Nagar, Students of MJPRU, Bareilly may do the following things on weekends.

1. Students may go for many outdoor and indoor games in the DDU Stadium.
2. Students may work and assist in developing the garden by working on plantation activities and taking care of them. If one student adopts one plant, he/she will definitely make this university a garden for the outsiders.
3. They may visit book shops. Nearby, two bookstores are worth visiting. The one is Syndicate Book House at Ayub Khan Chauraha and the other is Kitab Ghar, opposite Kotwali.
4. For Competitive books, students should be expected to continuously visit the Competition Book House at Bareilly College gate. There they may update themselves with books and advertisements of various jobs.
5. For food, students may visit Tyagi Restaurant, Kwality Restaurant, Chawla Restaurants and the hotels near Railway Junction. Here they may get some delicious food.
