The College of Burdwan, otherwise called Burdwan University or B. U. is a chief Four Star state-funded college in Purba Bardhaman, West Bengal, India. It was built up by the West Bengal Government as an educating and affiliating college on 15 June 1960 with six alumni offices and 30 undergrad schools spread more than three locales that go under the purview of the college.

The ward covers the Birbhum area, Purba Bardhaman locale, and Hooghly region except for Srirampore development. It offers over 30 undergrad and 66 postgraduate courses. There are 227 Regarded Resources and 189 subsidiary schools.

The University of Burdwan is situated in Purba Bardhaman, West Bengal, India. It was established by the Government of West Bengal on June 15, 1960. The main campus is about 398 acres (approximately).

The University has four academic campuses —

Golabag Campus
UIT campus for Engineering
Rajbari Campus
Tara bag Campus for Medical Education.

It has received a Four-Star status by NAAC under UGC, Govt. of India. The University is known for its Law, Management, Engineering & Medical Courses.

The university offers more than 30 undergraduate and 66 postgraduate courses.

Burdwan University- DDE

Burdwan University, Directorate of Distance Education (DDE) provides facilities of distance learning courses under MBA, B.Ed., M.Sc., M.A., and M.Com. programs.

PG curriculum consists of 9 subject specializations. All degree courses are offered under the distance learning curriculum of the university. The Admission process for all programs are as follow:

Students are required to give the CAT/CMAT exam or the University’s entrance exam for MBA admission.

Burdwan University- PG Admission

Graduate students have a chance to apply for 94 PG courses available at the University. The courses have a span of 2 years. Admission here is mainly done on academics– marks secured in honors, high-school, and madhyamik.

Ph.D. courses are available at the University with various specializations. The minimum qualification required for the Ph.D. degree is a Master’s degree with at least 55% marks & second level honors degree in a specific subject. The selection will be based on the marks acquired by the student in the entrance test and the interview.

The duration of the course offered is 1 year
Candidates who have achieved at 50% in their Degree/Master’s Degree in Arts/Science/Fine Arts/Music/Commerce or any other course are eligible for admission. Marks in honor would also be considered
Age Limit: the limit is within 38 years of age and an additional 5 years relaxation for PWD quota.
Reservation: Total seats are kept reserved for SC(22%),ST(6%) & PWD(3%) categories in each college.
5% seats of the Fresh candidates are reserved coming from other Universities.

Burdwan University- MBA

The duration of the course offered is 2 year
Eligibility: Graduates in Arts, Science, Commerce, or any other branch of Social Science.
- At least 60% of marks must be acquired by Graduates in Engineering and Technology, Pharmacy, Agriculture.
- Admission is also done based on the MAT Examination.
