CBSE stands for Central Board of Secondary Education. It is an educational department of India which looks into the educational system and pattern of various schools around the country under them. They make the rules and regulations and set exams for all over the students enrolled under the board. Central Board of Secondary Education is not only situated in a singular state but is available all around the country.

Each school who wants to convert their major board into Central Board of Secondary Education can apply for the procedure online. With mere details and instructions the registration portal will be open to all and with filling the formalities schools can convert their boards into Central Board of Secondary Education. The Central Board of Secondary Education was formed on 3^rd November 1962 which is nearly 57 years ago. It is a governmental type board of education which have their headquarters in Delhi, India. The official language followed by the board is mainly English and Hindi. The chairperson of the board is Anita Karwal who is an IAS in her field. Total 21,499 schools are enrolled under the Central Board of Secondary Education. Private and Public schools both are allowed to enroll themselves under the board.

Initially the board office was situated primarily in Uttar Pradesh but afterwards they started expanded their office wings with situating in Gwalior, Ajmer, Bhopal, Vindhya, Delhi etc. Central Board of Secondary Education is mandatory enrolled with all the Kendriya Vidyalayas inside the country and the private school are initially approved by the government of India and then enrolled under the name of Central Board of Secondary Education.

Every year the board conducts their final exams for each standard in March and the new session in resumed in the month of April. The board exams which are in 10^th and 12^th standard are conducted in the month of February and March and the results are declared in the month of May. The exam pattern, sample papers, marking schemes etc. everything is set by the Central Board of Secondary Education. The exam sheets are collectively collected from every exam centers and are thus sent for correction to their respective offices. Every state has their own different center where the answer sheets are checked and marks are allotted.  The passing criteria for 10^th standard is that the candidate should be present for all the 6 subjects and should get minimum 33% overall and should get minimum passing marks in every subject individually including the practical and theoretical subjects. The passing criteria for 12^th standard is that the candidate should get more than 33% in over all subjects and individually also should get the minimum passing marks in every subject individually including theoretical and practicals taken. If any student fails in more than 1 subject they are bound to repeat the whole term. If any student gets compartment in 1 subject, they are allowed to give the paper which is conducted in the year of July. Students need to score more than the minimum passing marks in that particular subject and thus after that their final results are calculated.
