Singapore has a total of 34 universities, out of which 6 are national. The National University of Singapore (NUS) and Nanyang Technological University (NTU) are two highly-ranked universities in the QS world education rankings. These universities have a student population of over 30,000 and offer a wide variety of courses for students to choose from.

Other than being the hub of renowned universities, let’s see the other reasons to take an education in Singapore.

1. High-Quality Education

Singapore provides outstanding quality education to its students, including those worldwide. In fact, two of its universities are ranked within the top 15 globally, while two others are in the top 3 in Asia, as per the QS World’s University Ranking list. In addition, Singapore is acknowledged as a world leader in providing engineering, technology, and natural sciences programs.

2. Less Expensive

Singapore is substantially less expensive when it comes to college costs and housing when compared to other overseas nations. This is fantastic news for international students seeking cheap ways to continue their education overseas. Singapore also provides top-notch resources for overseas students to live and study there for the duration of their program, including financial aid to enable them to finish their education.

3. Safe and Secure Environment

Singapore is classified as the second-safest city in the world in the 2019 Safe Cities Index by the Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU). This is fantastic news for overseas students who might be anxious about relocating to a strange location. Singapore is one of the safest countries in the world thanks to its extremely low crime rate, partly due to the stringent implementation of laws and regulations.

The National University of Singapore (NUS) has a dedicated security staff that patrols its campuses around the clock, 365 days a year, to assure its students’ safety further. This gives families and families of overseas students peace of mind knowing that their safety is a primary priority.

Singapore provides a stable political and social climate overall. The average Singaporean is technologically adept and well-informed, and governmental and private organizations are renowned for their effectiveness and methodical approach. Due to these elements, Singapore is desirable for international students looking for a safe and comfortable learning environment.

4. Student-friendly and great quality of life

Singapore has been classified as the fifth most expat-friendly nation in 2021, which is fantastic news for international students seeking to study abroad. The country welcomes expats and provides a safe environment for students to study, thanks to its strict laws and low crime rates.

If you’re worried about networking around campus or facing language barriers, you can breathe easily because English is widely spoken in Singapore. This means you can easily communicate and connect with people from diverse backgrounds, making your experience more comfortable and enjoyable.

5. No language barrier

One of the best aspects of studying in Singapore is that overseas students don’t have to worry about language problems. Despite Malay being the official language, English is widely spoken and understood in Singapore. English is one of Singapore’s four official languages, along with Malay, Mandarin, and Tamil.

Because of this, students from all over the world can interact and form friendships with locals as well as other international students. English is widely spoken in Singaporean businesses and organizations, making it simple for students to blend in and succeed academically.

6. Cultural Diversity

Singapore is an economically successful nation located on an island in the middle of Southeast Asia. Its population, a melting pot of different cultures, races, and religions, makes it a special and fascinating place to live, work, and study. The Chinese, Malay, Indian, and other minority communities are the four main ethnic groupings of Singapore. This heterogeneous community weaves a vibrant tapestry of customs, celebrations, and culinary delights, making it an intriguing location for international students seeking a cross-cultural education.

7. Student Scholarships in Singapore

The government and private organizations offer scholarships based on academic excellence and special skills to help make studying in Singapore more affordable for international students. Students must complete particular requirements in order to be eligible for these awards. The Singapore International Graduate Award, the Amity Global Institute Merit Scholarship, and the SIA Youth Scholarships are a few of the scholarships offered to Indian students. By helping students reach their academic objectives, these programs hope to lessen the financial burden of studying in Singapore.

The easy connectivity and frequent availability of flights between both countries make it effortless for students to select Singapore as their preferred study destination.

9. Excellent work opportunities

Singapore’s strong economic status provides excellent employment opportunities for international students studying in the country. Due to the close linkages between the major industries and educational institutions, such as banking, telecommunications, and logistics, it is simpler for students to find a job after graduation. The prospects of students getting employment in their field of study are further increased by the fact that several firms provide internships to students through their universities. Singapore is becoming a popular travel destination for Indian students looking for academic prospects and job opportunities.

10. A renowned Global Business Hub

The World Bank gives Singapore good marks for being a business-friendly nation, and as a result, many financial institutions have chosen to establish operations there. As a result, many of the largest firms in the world have opened offices there.
