- IMT Dubai now runs a One Year full-time MBA and a Four Year BBA (Weekday and Weekend); the Executive MBA is listed as inactive and the older BSBA is being discontinued
- The One Year MBA costs AED 95,368 in total and the BBA Weekday AED 142,780, both taken from the institute's own tuition pages
- The UAE Commission for Academic Accreditation register currently lists the institute with the status Student Admission Suspended, so applicants should confirm the position directly with the admissions office before paying any fee.
What Is IMT Dubai and Why Do Indian Students Consider It?
IMT Dubai is a standalone business school in Dubai International Academic City, established in 2006 as the Institute of Management Technology group's first overseas campus. It is licensed by the UAE Ministry of Education and offers only two live programmes in 2026: a One Year MBA and a Four Year BBA.
The Institute of Management Technology, Dubai describes itself as an international business school focused on preparing industry-ready professionals for the Middle East and wider global market. Its parent institution, IMT Ghaziabad, was founded in India in 1980.
The attraction for Indian applicants is straightforward: a one-year MBA taught in English, a campus inside Dubai International Academic City, and fees quoted in AED that include shared hostel accommodation for students coming from outside the UAE.
Note that the school is a specialist business institute rather than a full university. It does not appear in the QS or THE world university rankings, and older claims of a global rank near 5,998 or a country rank of 11 come from automated web-popularity lists, not from any recognised ranking body.
- Established: 2006, Dubai International Academic City
- Licensing body: Ministry of Education, UAE (through the CAA)
- Dubai regulator: Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA)
- Programme accreditation: International Accreditation Council for Business Education (IACBE)
- Campus area: 21,054 square metres with 594 hostel beds
- Faculty: the institute states its core faculty are PhD holders
Which Programmes Does IMT Dubai Offer in 2026?
Three programmes are live in 2026: the One Year full-time MBA, the Four Year BBA Weekday and the Four Year BBA Weekend. The Executive MBA is flagged inactive on the institute's own programmes menu, and the older four-year BSBA is marked as discontinuing, so new applicants cannot join either.
This is the single biggest change since the older profiles of IMT Dubai were written. The MBA is no longer a two-year programme for fresh graduates; it is a one-year full-time degree that requires a minimum of two years of work experience.
| Programme 2026 | Duration | Attendance | Status |
|---|---|---|---|
| One Year MBA | 1 year | Full time | Live |
| Four Year BBA Weekday | 4 years | Weekday | Live |
| Four Year BBA Weekend | 4 years | Weekend | Live |
| Executive EMBA | 1 year | Weekend | Inactive |
| Four Year BSBA | 4 years | Full time | Discontinuing |
The BBA requires 120 credits across eight semesters, made up of general education, core courses, electives, free electives, a corporate engagement block of two internships, an industry readiness programme of six workshops, and a global immersion semester abroad.
BBA electives are grouped into Accounting and Finance, Marketing, Digital Business, Entrepreneurship, and Logistics and Supply Chain Management. The One Year MBA includes a dissertation, project-based learning and workshops on leadership, decision making, negotiation and strategic thinking.

Older figures of AED 88,000 MBA tuition, AED 145,000 for a Bachelor of Business Administration inclusive of hostel, or an annual MBA cost of INR 8.9 lakh no longer match the published schedule and should be ignored.
MBA Abroad: How Much Does It Cost?Read →What Are the Admission Requirements and Cut-Offs?
The One Year MBA requires an accredited bachelor's degree with a CGPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale, at least two years of work experience, an English test score and an assessment interview. Applicants with a CGPA between 2.5 and 3.0 may receive conditional admission after a successful panel interview.
The published MBA criteria list no GMAT or CAT requirement. Selection rests on the undergraduate CGPA, work experience, English proficiency and the academic panel interview. Degrees earned outside the UAE need an equivalency certificate from the UAE Ministry of Education.
| English Test 2026 | MBA Minimum Score | BBA Minimum Score |
|---|---|---|
| IELTS Academic | 6.0 | 5.0 |
| TOEFL paper-based | 550 | 500 |

For the BBA, Indian board applicants from CBSE, ICSE or state boards need 60 per cent overall in grade 12, plus either an EmSAT Mathematics score of 600 or 60 per cent in Mathematics, Business or Accounting in class 12. International Baccalaureate applicants need 26 points.
Conditionally admitted students are restricted to nine credit hours in their first semester and must reach a CGPA of 3.0 to continue normally.
Is IMT Dubai Accredited and Recognised in 2026?
Yes for accreditation, but with an important caveat. IMT Dubai is licensed by the UAE Ministry of Education, its programmes are accredited by the Commission for Academic Accreditation, and it is licensed by Dubai's KHDA. However, the CAA public register currently records its status as Student Admission Suspended.
The Commission for Academic Accreditation is the UAE federal quality assurance agency. Its public higher education institution register lists the school as Institute of Management Technology-Dubai (Student Admissions Suspended), and it is the only institution on that register carrying this status label.
The institute's own website continues to advertise admissions and publishes current fee schedules. Because the regulator's register and the institute's website disagree, any applicant should obtain written confirmation from the admissions office that the intake they are applying for is open and that the degree will be issued as a CAA-accredited award.
On programme accreditation, the MBA and BBA hold specialised accreditation from the International Accreditation Council for Business Education, based in Overland Park, Kansas. The institute is a member of AACSB International, but membership is not the same as AACSB accreditation.

|---|---|---|---|
| Graduation rate | 87.5% | 67.82% | 100% |
| Retention rate | 92.31% | 89.57% | 100% |
On internships, the Office of Career Services reported 100 per cent internship placement for the MBA batch of 2022-23 within a month of the programme starting, with an average stipend of AED 2,700 and a highest stipend of AED 4,000. Roles covered market research, finance, customer success and sales analysis.
Older claims of a 100 per cent placement record with an average package of INR 12.50 lakh and a highest package of INR 27 lakh trace back to 2016 to 2019 tables that the institute no longer publishes. No current official salary disclosure exists, so treat any rupee package figure you see on aggregator sites as unverified.
What Scholarships Does IMT Dubai Offer?
The institute offers scholarships and discounts across five categories: early enrolment, academic excellence, merit based, sibling discount, and financial aid on compassionate grounds. There is no formal application form; students send a written request stating the categories they wish to be considered for, and a scholarship board decides.
- Scholarships and grants apply to tuition only, not to administration fees, accommodation, transport, insurance, visa or medical charges unless stated otherwise.
- Only one award is granted per student, the highest value one where more than one applies.
- Awards are valid only for the term offered and cannot be deferred.
- All conditions of the offer must be met before an award is released.
- Academic and English language entry requirements must be satisfied before a scholarship is considered.
- The scholarship committee's decision is final and binding.
Applying early improves the chance of an award. Discount card holders must present a valid original card at the time of fee payment for each new term; an expired card means the discount is not granted, and the discount cannot be changed mid-term.

Should Indian Students Apply to IMT Dubai in 2026?
Apply only after confirming in writing that the intake is open, given the regulator's suspended-admissions status. If confirmed, the One Year MBA at AED 95,368 including shared accommodation is competitively priced for Dubai, but weigh it against the absence of published salary outcomes and any recognised world ranking.
- Ask admissions for written confirmation that the intake is open and CAA-accredited.
- Check the CAA public register entry for the institute yourself before paying.
- Confirm the current fee schedule in AED and whether VAT is included in the quote.
- Budget separately for hostel charges if you are applying to the BBA rather than the MBA.
- Obtain a Ministry of Education equivalency certificate for a degree earned outside the UAE.
- Keep your English test score valid and above the programme minimum on the day you apply.
