Sitaram Jindal Scholarship 2020 Conditions and Criteria
Category A | 1. The student must be studying in the class of 11th or 12th. 2. The male applicant must have scored minimum of 65% in the previous examination and the female candidate must have scored a minimum of 60% in the previous examination to attain this Jindal Scholarship. 3. Candidates who are from Bengal and Karnataka must attain a score of 75% in previous exams for boys and 70 % for girls. 4. For an employment family, the income must be less than 4 lakhs and for an unemployed family, the income must be less than 2.5 lakhs. 5. The applicant must be below 30 years. The students of 11th and 12th class studying in the government or government-aided colleges/institutions are eligible for this category of the Sitaram jindal scholarship. |
Category B | 1. The applicant must be an ITI student. 2. The male applicant must have scored a 50% in the previous examination and the female candidate must have scored a 40% to avail of this Jindal Scholarship. 3. Those in an employed family, the income must be less than 4 lakhs and for an unemployed family, the income must be less than 2.5 lakhs. 5.The applicant must be of less than 30 years of age. This category of the scholarship is applicable for the ITI students who are studying in Government colleges or government-aided colleges. Category C | 1. The candidate must be pursuing pg courses. 2. The male candidate must have scored a minimum of 65% in previous exams and the female candidate must score a 60%. 3. An employment family income must be less than 4 lakhs. 5. For an unemployed family, income must be less than 2.5 lakhs applicant must be below 30 years. If the student is enrolled in an integrated program, then the scholarship can be attended by the student for the first 3 years of the course under the C category of the Jindal scholarship. Category E | 1. This category of the scholarship is meant for the students pursuing BA and PG in any field of Engineering and Medical Science. 2. The engineering field includes B. Architecture courses and the Medical field includes Homeopathy, Ayurveda and Naturopathy besides BDS and MBBS. 3. However, MDS is not included under this category of the Jindal scholarship. Eligibility Criteria The male candidate should have an aggregate score of 70% to get the benefits of the scholarship either on the BA or the PG level. Eligibility Criteria for Jindal scholarship
Jindal scholarship is divided into different categories as per the course taken up by the candidates availing for the scholarship. The scholarship amount of INR 2500 will be given per month. Who are not eligible for the Jindal scholarship?
- MDS candidates are not eligible for the scholarship
- The male candidate score must be at least 70% to be eligible
- The girl student must have a minimum of 65% to be eligible
- The students of Karnataka and West Bengal should have a score of 75% for male students and 70% of the score for female students
- If the candidates have marks below the required percentage then they are not eligible

5 Categories of Jindal Scholarship
1. Pre-University:
This category refers to classes 11th and 12th and provides a grant of RS 500/- per month which is based at Eligibility percentage of boys and girls is 65% and 60% for all India states exams, eligibility is pegged at 75% and 70% for Karnataka and 70% and 65% respectively for West Bengal for boys and girls.
2. ITI:
In this category students in Govt. as well as Private ITIs are provided with Rs 500/- and Rs 700/- per month with eligibility percentage of passing marks only for states other than Karnataka, where Karnataka has a 50% and 40% eligibility for boys and girls respectively.
3. Graduate Courses and Post Graduate Courses:
This category has been divided into two categories of:
- Graduate courses
- Postgraduate course
These have been further divided into three more subcategories, namely
- General Category
- Physically Challenged or Handicapped Students
- Widows and unmarried wards of Ex-servicemen
Graduate courses like BA, B. Com, B.Sc., BFA, etc. are covered under this Jindal Scholarship scheme and have scholarship ranging from Rs 800/- to Rs 1200/- per month depending on your category.
Post Graduate courses like M. A, M.Phil., M. Com, MBA, etc. are covered under this scheme and have scholarship ranging from Rs 1000/- to Rs 1500/- per month depending upon your category. This category also has similar eligibility percentages as the pre-university level had for various states.
4. Diploma Courses:
Here, the scholarship is Rs 1200/- for girls and Rs 1000/- for boys along with the eligibility criteria of 60% for Boys and 55% for girls in the previous Merit Certificate Examination.
5. Engineering and Medicine Courses:
This category covers the Graduate engineering courses from all streams, including
- Architecture
- MBBS
- Dental
- Pharma, etc.
At the PG level, Jindal Scholarship includes Homeopathy, Naturopathy, Pharma, Surgery, but excludes MDS. The scholarship in this category ranges from Rs 1500/- to Rs 2500/- per month.

Jindal Scholarship Application Procedure
Application procedure for Jindal scholarship can be made in both online as well as offline modes; there is no last date of application and can be applied by a candidate at any time during their ongoing course. The selection for this scholarship is based on Marks in their previous certificate examination as well as the financial status of the family. As there is no way to check the application status online, the candidate must wait for their conformational letter if they are selected.
